UNIFORM

When in NYC, I wore this outfit on Black Friday. So much chaos around me that I completely forgot to take pictures of this outfit and without noticing, it was already dark. However, it did not take me long enough to photograph this ensemble again because it is my winter uniform. First off, I cannot stop wearing my camel coat. It goes with literally everything that I own. This gray cashmere cropped sweater is so warm and cozy, plus it goes oh so well with high-waisted pants. I own 3 pairs of plaid pants and hopefully the number will keep growing. They are perfect for this weather, so comfy to go to school and even dressier than my jeans. Although, they have a slouchy feel because of the 'sweat pant' structure. This semester, I have barely used my booties. It is all about the sneakers. I have used and abused this pair. Also, my take on a scarf is a simple bandana. It looks edgier and keeps my neck warm. You'll be seeing more of sweater + pant ensembles for sure. Tell me what you think below in the comments! Mwa

Cuando estaba en NYC, usé este outfit en Black Friday. Había tanta gente en la calle que tratando de llegar de un destino a otro, se me olvidó tomar fotos. No me importó mucho porque sabría que no tardaría en fotografiarlo otra vez. Creo que encontré mi uniforme de invierno. Empezando por mi abrigo color caramelo que no lo he parado de usar como pueden ver en mis ultimos posts. El sweater gris es uno de mis favoritos ya que es cortito y el color combina con todo. Tengo 3 pares de pantalones tartán y espero que el número vaya creciendo porque en invierno los utilizo mucho. Personalmente me canso muchísimo de los jeans y me parece que esta es la mejor opción ya que visten mucho mas y el estampado es simple pero resalta. Este semestre no he usado casi mis botines ya que estoy obsesionada con mis sneakers. Y por último, he estado utilizando mis bandanas en vez de bufandas ya que se ven un poco más "atrevido" y menos convencional que las bufandas. Estoy segura que verán mas opciones de este atuendo! WINTER WHITE

DAY #1: First Post of my pre-FashionWeek winter outfits. I decided that I will post an outfit everyday of the week until Friday when I'll be going to New York for Fashion Week! I will be posting tips from how to wear white in winter, layer denim pieces, same color different prints, vintage clothing combine with winter trends, and so much more!! This outfit was inspired on the winter-motto everybody is talking about: Wear white after Labor day! I love white all year long and I cannot wait to find the perfect white leather pants. However, this skirt seemed very summery but I managed to combined it with my favorite winter pieces. A white knitted sweater and of course, the faux fur vest and for accessories I went with shades of blue. Pop of color? Orange on the lips to bring out the crisp white of the outfit. Mix and match opposites colors on the palette and add them to simple white t-shirts. Twist the everyday white V-neck and jeans with colors and make it fun! So this is it, Mwa!

DIA #1: Este es el primer post de una serie de outfits que subiré todos los días al blog hasta el Viernes que estaré viajando a la semana de la moda en Nueva York. Cada día subiré un outfit con tips en como vestir para invierno. Desde blanco en esta temporada, capas de jean, mismo color con diferentes estampados, piezas de épocas pasadas con tendencias del ahora y mucho mas! Este outfit esta inspirado en una frase que oigo en todas partes: Usa blanco después de Labor Day! No hay nada mejor que camuflajearse en la nieve no? No puedo esperar a tener en mis manos un pantalón de cuero blanco. Aunque esta falda sea veraniega, la junté con un sweater blanco para crear la ilusión de un vestido de invierno con un chaleco de piel sintética y porsupuesto un toque de color. Escogí diferentes tonos de azul para los accesorios y de contraste naranja en los labios. Si combinar colores no es tu fuerte, toma la paleta y escoje dos colores opuestos. No hay nada mas sencillo que combinar blanco con todo! Espero que les guste. Mua!

PASTELS AND FAUX FUR.

I know I'm late but HAPPY 2014!! It has been exactly 2 weeks since the year started but I just wanted to take a break and unplug for a while. Let's start the year the right way with PASTELS AND FAUX FUR! I decided to give this girly look a casual and comfy feel with my old but amazing nike floral sneakers while the baby blue tone of the skirt makes the colors of the clutch stand out... I am in love with this skirt and I can't wait to try different ways to style it. Take 2014 as the year of challenges. Don't be afraid to mix girly pieces with sporty additions. Hasta la vista! Mwa

Se que estoy un poco tarde pero... FELIZ 2014!! Han pasado exactamente 2 semanas desde que comenzamos el año y de verdad que he estado ausente porque quería desconectarme para empezar el año con todo. Empecemos el primer post del año con colores pasteles y piel sintética. Decidí hacer de este look femenino un poco mas casual y cómodo con uno de mis favoritos zapatos de goma nike que tengo desde hace tiempo y son color crema con detalles florales. El tono celeste de la falda hace contraste con el sobre y deja que los colores sobresalgan. El 2014 es el año de desafíos así que empecemos rompiendo el esquema de las faldas y tacones y agreguemos zapatos de goma para balancear. Hasta la vista! Mua

Brrr It's cold outside.. However! I think I found my loyal companion during the holidays and phd (post-holiday depression), it's cozy, it goes perfect with every color of the palette and it has a detachable faux fur collar.. The best part? It was on s a l e. I decided that for the first post that would define our new friendship, I would wear an outfit that pushed me out of my comfort zone. High faux leather boots, a bright flowy skirt and my ex-loyal companion Biggie.

Comenzó el invierno con la primera nevada en Boston. Pero, creo que encontré un nuevo compañero para esta temporada y el nuevo año. Abriga, pega con todo lo que tengo y tiene un cuello de piel falsa que puede quitar y poner de vuelta. Lo mejor de todo? Es que estaba en rebaja!!. Decidí que para arrancar esta amistad (verán mucho de él en el blog), usaría un look que me empujara fuera de mi zona de confort, para ello tenía que usar mis botas altas, una falda femenina y colorida y mi ex-compañero Biggie.

Why settle for pants and boring sweaters?  I want to feel feminine this winter that is why I am trying my best to incorporate skirts, shorts and jumpers to my everyday outfits. I get bored with following the pants & sweater uniform pattern so I found a super warm plaid skirt that can be paired up with lots of colorful knitted sweaters and voilá! I have a new uniform for this winter. This sweater has everything I was looking for in a knitted number. It is cropped, warm and NAVY! I have been seeing lots of "Navy is the new black" mottoes so I decided to join the club. Do you like it? Do you feel Navy is the new black this season? Thanks for reading <3 Mwa!

Por qué conformarse con un simple pantalon y sweater para invierno? Quiero sentirme femenina aunque tenga que ponerme mil capas de ropa encima. Por eso trato de incorporar piezas como faldas, shorts y bragas para añadirle diversión a la hora de vestirme. Encontré una falda que es super caliente y la tela escocesa me permite combinarla con diferentes tops. Este sweater se ha convertido en una pieza clásica para el invierno. Tiene todo lo que buscaba es corto, super caliente y azul marino. Hay una nueva tendencia esta temporada de sustituir el negro por azul marino y hasta ahora me ha encantado!!. Les parece el negro sustituible? Creen que el azul marino sea el color indicado? Gracias por leerme <3 Mua!
