SANTA MONICA PIER

The Santa Monica pier... by far one of my favorite places in the world. Filled with colors, beautiful landscapes, relaxing waves sounds, kids running around and delicious food. For this outfit I wanted to keep the black and white palette. I didn't want to overshadow the colors of my surroundings in the pictures. Of course, I added denim and pop of red once again. Also, I played with the mesh texture of the shirt as well as the skirt. Hope you like it! Mwa.

El muelle de Santa Mónica es uno de mis lugares favoritos después de visitarlo por primera vez hace poco. Lleno de colores, paisajes hermosos, el sonido de las olas y comida deliciosa. Quise mantener un look monocromático pero por supuesto añadiendo una pieza de jean y toque de rojo. Lo que más me gusta es jugar con texturas y lo logré con la camisa y falda de malla. DENIM MADNESS

DAY #3 of my pre-FashionWeek winter outfit series. Here's the deal. I went mad about denim so I decided to mix a smock denim dress, boyfriend jeans and a denim varsity jacket. Oh, and yes, blue booties. My favorite outfits are the ones that are randomly put together. I wanted to wear the dress with tights and as I tried it, I had my boyfriend jeans  on. It looked manrepell-ish and I just loved it. I have seen girls (myself included) pulling off the denim on denim trend. What I really didn't know is that a little more denim wouldn't hurt anybody. So, I thought.. Let's do a ménage à trois à la denim!. Of course, the animal print and contrasting orange color had to join me and my new love affair. I love you denim. Mwa!

DIA #3 de mi serie de outfits antes de la Semana de la Moda. Les cuento que este día me volví loca por el jean y decidí mezclar un vestido estilo blusón, "boyfriend jeans", y una chaqueta deportiva de jean. Ah! y por si fuera poco, botines azules. Mis outfits favoritos terminan siendo cuando los compongo sin darme cuenta. Quería usar mi vestido con medias y mientras lo probaba tenía puesto mis jeans y cuando miré al espejo no podía creer lo raro y a la vez increíble que se veía. He visto la tendencia de jean sobre jean en muchas niñas incluyéndome. Lo que no me habia dado cuenta es que un poco más de jean no haría daño :). Claramente, no podía faltar un toque de estampado de leopardo y el naranja que hace contraste con el azul. Gracias por leerme! Mua

COLORS & TEXTURES

What can I say? Furry peach, denim blue and oxblood basics. I wore the same bottom and top as last year's post PLAIN PLAID. But this time, I decided to give this outfit a casual feel by adding items with different textures. From head to toe, this furry angora beanie which complements the bag, a denim varsity jacket with a twist and blue faux croc skin booties. When I am undecided on what to wear when I already have my top and bottom, I find that it is easier to pick two items, one from the top half and one for the bottom half that complement each other. In this case I picked the same blue that its found on the pant and this peachy color that serves as a contrast with the oxblood of the cable knit sweater and pant. Thank you so much for reading! Mwa

Este post decidí tomar los mismos básicos que en mi post PLAIN PLAID del año pasado y agregarle piezas para hacerlo más casual. Estos tres elementos que elegí son de diferentes texturas para acentuarlos y dejar que los básicos pasen por desapercibidos. Soy gran promotora de reutilizar outfits y darles giros para que luzcan totalmente diferentes. Empecemos de la cabeza a los pies. El gorro "peludo", la chaqueta deportiva con tela de jean y los botines con efecto reptil son los portagonistas de este outfit. Hablando de colores, cada vez que no puedo decidir con que combinar mi outfit, agarro 2 piezas del mismo color. Una para la mitad de arriba y otra para la mitad de abajo. En este caso, la chaqueta y los zapatos son del mismo azul del pantalón tartán mientras que el gorro y el sobre color melocotón hacen contraste con el vinotinto. Gracias por leerme! Mua

Boy, did I miss the heat.... Although I'm wearing layers, the feeling of bare legs and open-toe heels is priceless. I went for a biker look kinda sporty with the leather jacket and tartan shirt and very girly on the bottom with the shoes and skort. I will try to photograph as many looks as I can while I'm here on break because when I go back to Boston, my blog and myself will froze in the attempt to keep the blog flowing. No saben cuanto extrañaba el calor!! Aunque ande en chaqueta de cuero, el poder salir con shorts y tacones abiertos no tiene precio. Mi look esta dividido en 2. La parte de arriba es mas deportiva, relajada con la camisa tartán y la chaqueta de cuero mientras que la parte de abajo es muy femenina con el short y tacones abiertos. Trataré de fotografiar todos los looks que utilice mientras esté de vacaciones ya que cuando regrese a Boston, mi blog y yo nos congelaremos en el intento de seguir postrando looks!!! DENIM ON DENIM

Denim on denim. You cannot go wrong with denim on freaking denim. Add pops of color like these very colorful shoes that have a several textures and patterns. Red bag + Red/orangy lips. Voilá.

La tendencia de combinar tonalidades de jean en tu look no pasa de moda y es tan versatil y fácil de combinar. Me encanta agregar mucho color para que el azul de la tela sirva de base. Estos zapatos van perfectos ya que ademas de los colores, tiene diferentes texturas y telas. Agrega una cartera de color y labios de color. Voilá.
